Listening with friends: common questions
Can I listen with friends for free?
Yes. Creating and joining rooms, synchronized listening and room chat are free. An account adds saved playlists and hosted room history. Plus and Premium offer additional tools.
Does everyone need an account or an app download?
No. Friends can join as guests in a browser on mobile or desktop. AllTune is also available on Google Play for Android.
Can everyone add songs?
The host can grant DJ access to friends. DJs add tracks to the queue. Plus and Premium hosts can also enable guest song requests with approval controls.
Does AllTune play Spotify or Apple Music links?
The room supports YouTube tracks and audio uploads. Spotify and Apple Music playback are not currently supported.
Why might a track not play for a friend?
YouTube availability can vary by region and embedding restrictions. A mobile browser may also ask you to tap before audio starts. Try a different track if a video is unavailable.
